Lesedi Ntsane is a South African-born trumpeter who was introduced to music at early age and still continues to ferociously , exploring the trumpet.

His work, compositions, interpretation and expression draw from his background, his continued study of humanity in accordance with the Universe, a profound study in tracing all the elements that are perceived unrelated.

His Grandfather, Jacob Ntsane was the founder of one South Africa’s classic Musical unit, The Merrymaker’s Orchestra. Lesedi spent his entire High School career playing for the Springs Boys High School Brass Band, winning  the National Marching Band competitons, five consecutive years, every single year he was there and receivied National Colours at thirteen (13) years old.

After moving to New York City to further his studies at the prestigious New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music where he had the privilege to expand his scope and expand his skills in film-scoring, education, arranging, producing, creative writing aside from performing and also graduating with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Jazz and Contemporary Music. He continues working as a band leader and collaborator. 

Lesedi is also The Brooklyn Jazz Consortiums, Deacon Leroy Applin Young Lion Award Recepient,2016.
